OCEAN CRUISES
The World by Sea
There’s no better way to wake up somewhere new.
WHY CRUISE WITH ME
I don’t recommend cruise lines from a brochure.
I’ve sailed with the lines I work with. I know what the cabins actually feel like, how the food compares at sea rather than on a press trip, which ships have the right energy for a couple celebrating something important, and which ones suit someone who wants to disappear into open ocean for a week and not think about anything. That firsthand experience is what I bring to every conversation.
Choosing the right cruise line is not a minor decision. Get it wrong and the experience falls flat. Get it right and it becomes one of the best trips you’ve ever taken. My job is to make sure it’s the latter.
WHAT MOST PEOPLE DON’T REALIZE
Ocean cruising spans an enormous range of experiences, price points and travel styles.
The word “cruise” covers everything from intimate ships carrying a few hundred guests to vast floating resorts with thousands on board. The difference in experience is not incremental. It’s fundamental.
The lines I work with sit across the premium and luxury end of the market, and even within that range, the right choice depends entirely on who you are and how you travel.
Four things shape the decision more than anything else.
Scale and atmosphere
A smaller ship creates a completely different rhythm.
Fewer guests, less noise, staff who know your name by day two.
Larger ships offer more variety, more entertainment and often more flexibility on price. Neither is wrong.
It depends entirely on what you’re looking for and what kind of traveler you are.
Style and formality
Some lines are dressed-up, occasion-focused experiences built around elegance and ceremony.
Others are deliberately relaxed, casually refined and designed to feel like the world’s best boutique hotel happened to float.
Knowing which suits you is the difference between feeling completely at home and spending a week feeling slightly out of place.
What you want to explore
Some itineraries are designed to cover ground. A port a day, a new city every morning, maximum geography in minimum time.
Others are built around staying longer, going further inland and actually understanding the places you visit.
If depth matters to you, the itinerary design matters as much as the ship itself.
What’s included and what isn’t
This is where the real cost comparison happens, and where most people get caught out.
An all-inclusive luxury line and a premium line with optional extras can look very different on paper and arrive at similar real-world costs, or very different ones depending on how you travel.
I help you understand what you’re actually comparing before you commit to anything.
LIFE ON BOARD
A great cruise is not just about the destinations.
The days at sea are part of the point. The quality of the food, the design of the public spaces, the way the ship feels when you’re in open water with nothing ahead of you but the horizon. These things matter enormously, and they vary significantly between lines in ways that are difficult to understand from a website.
I’ve experienced what those differences feel like in practice, not on a spec sheet. When I recommend a ship, it’s because I know it’s right for you specifically. Not because it’s the easiest one to book, the highest commission or the one with the best brochure photography.
THE DESTINATIONS
The world’s most extraordinary coastlines are best seen from the water.
The Mediterranean and its ancient ports. Alaska’s glaciers and fjords approached from the sea. The South Pacific, the Caribbean, the Norwegian fjords, the coast of Australia and New Zealand. An ocean cruise is one of the most efficient and genuinely rewarding ways to cover significant ground without the friction of constant airports and hotel changes.
I specialize in helping clients find itineraries that match how they want to travel, not just where they want to go. The routing, the time of year, the balance between sea days and port days, the size of the ports and how crowded they get at peak season. All of it shapes the experience in ways most people don’t consider until they’re already on board.
THE PROCESS
Finding the right cruise starts with a single conversation.
We’ll talk through where you want to go, how you like to travel, what you’ve experienced before and what you’re hoping to feel when you’re out there.
From there I’ll put together a clear recommendation. The right line, the right ship, the right itinerary, the right time of year, and exactly why each of those decisions makes sense for you.
There’s no obligation at that stage.
Just an honest recommendation from someone who has done the research in person, on the ships he recommends.
